Zocdoc is the elephant in the room whenever I talk about OpenMyPro. They are the incumbent, the brand name, the company that raised over $375 million in venture capital. So why did I think the market needed another healthcare marketplace? Because Zocdoc solved the problem for 2012. The market has evolved, and their approach has not kept pace.

Let me be clear about what Zocdoc does well. They built a massive brand, onboarded thousands of providers, and proved that online healthcare booking is a viable business. They deserve credit for pioneering the category. But pioneering a category and dominating it are different things, and the gaps in Zocdoc's approach create real opportunities.
